Country music star Shania Twain’s tied he knot with her devoted boyfriend, Swiss businessman Frédéric Thiébaud, on Jan. 1 in Puerto Rico.
Twain and Thiébaud came together under the most stressful of heartbreak-laden circumstances when Shania’s then-husband had an affair with Thiébaud’s then-wife (who was reportedly Twain’s best friend at the time). Both marriages dissolved after the extra-marital relationship was revealed.
After initially consoling each other in the aftermath of the marriage breakdowns, Twain and Thiébaud's friendship developed into love, and the two were married at sunset in Rincon, Puerto Rico, in front of 40 of their closest family and friends.
