TO DATE ...OR NOT TO DATE? I SAY DATE ON!

This blog is titled “50 First Dates and COUNTING…” because I have gone on A LOT of first dates that did not lead to a second.  I meet men in the course of my job, I meet men on FB, I met men at Kroger and I even meet men on 285! I met a lot of men, and I actually call about 1 out f every 10 men I met. And of the men I call, I go out with 1 out of every 20. And of the men I actually go out with, I have a second date with about 1 and every 30. Those stats are not looking very good, so why do I keep trying?  With every date I come closer to meeting the man who will be my husband …and I have too much love to give to keep it all for myself.
You have to look at dating like you’re on a desert island
Every night you build a fire and you hope a ship will see it and come save you
You do this for months and months and after a year you’re tired of building the fire
You figure what’s the use, my ship hasn’t come so far
Why should I think it will come now and you stop
But what if the ship comes the day after you stop building the fire
You have to keep making the effort …what’s the alternative?

PRICELESS...

In the car with my mom …
MOM: “Isn’t that the BMW you like?”
ME: “Yes, I like the car and the man driving it.”
MOM: “He’s turning into QT.”
ME: “Don’t we need gas?”
MOM: “No, I just filled up.”
ME:  “Yes mom, we need gas!”
                Gas  $4.00…
                Gum  $1.29…
                      Date for Saturday night  …PRICELESS!

I want a man who knows my “love language” ...and speaks it fluently!

Do you know your love language?  Does your partner speak your love language?
Your “love language,” is your primary way of expressing and interpreting love. We all identify primarily with one of the five love languages: Words of Affirmation, Quality Time, Receiving Gifts, Acts of Service, and Physical Touch.
What if you could say or do just the right thing guaranteed to make that special someone feel loved? The secret is learning the right love language!
Words of Affirmation
Actions don’t always speak louder than words. If this is your love language, unsolicited compliments mean the world to you. Hearing the words, “I love you,” are important—hearing the reasons behind that love sends your spirits skyward. Insults can leave you shattered and are not easily forgotten.
Quality Time
In the vernacular of Quality Time, nothing says, “I love you,” like full, undivided attention. Being there for this type of person is critical, but really being there—with the TV off, fork and knife down, and all chores and tasks on standby—makes your significant other feel truly special and loved. Distractions, postponed dates, or the failure to listen can be especially hurtful.
Receiving Gifts
Don’t mistake this love language for materialism; the receiver of gifts thrives on the love, thoughtfulness, and effort behind the gift. If you speak this language, the perfect gift or gesture shows that you are known, you are cared for, and you are prized above whatever was sacrificed to bring the gift to you. A missed birthday, anniversary, or a hasty, thoughtless gift would be disastrous—so would the absence of everyday gestures.
Acts of Service
Can vacuuming the floors really be an expression of love? Absolutely! Anything you do to ease the burden of responsibilities weighing on an “Acts of Service” person will speak volumes. The words he or she most want to hear: “Let me do that for you.” Laziness, broken commitments, and making more work for them tell speakers of this language their feelings don’t matter.
Physical Touch
This language isn’t all about the bedroom. A person whose primary language is Physical Touch is, not surprisingly, very touchy. Hugs, pats on the back, holding hands, and thoughtful touches on the arm, shoulder, or face—they can all be ways to show excitement, concern, care, and love. Physical presence and accessibility are crucial, while neglect or abuse can be unforgivable and destructive.

Want to know how a man feels about a woman?

Where a man takes her on a first date says a lot about who he is …and what he thinks about her…
Coffee is cheap
Drinks are an audition
Lunch is an interview
Dinner is romance

I'm not interested in AVERAGE!

I’ve never been impressed with average or ordinary – not an average man ...or a man who treats me like an ordinary woman. At the end of a nice evening the man asks, “What are your plans tomorrow”. She answers, “I’m getting my feet done.” His reply, ” I’ll pick you up and we can get our feet done together. Then we will have lunch and go to Aquarium, or for a walk in the park.” There’s nothing average about that!

He said to me..."I'm a good listener"!

What are the most important words a man can say to a woman? “I’m a good listener”.  Just when I thought I knew everything I need and want in a mate, today I was reminded of an important quality I completely overlooked.  As I was leaving my office I called a friend to discuss my arduous and very long day.  After talking to him I felt so much better, lighter in fact.  I sent him a text that said "Thanks", and he sent me a text back that said, “I’m a good listener”. And that’s when it hit me how important it is to be with a man who listens with his ears and his whole heart!

Love is a special occasion...

Asked my girlfriend what she's doing Valentine's weekend.  She said she really didn’t need to get or do anything special because her husband gives her flowers every week. As soon as one bouquet dies, he makes sure there's another one to replace it.  Now that’s the kind of relationship I want!  The kind where Valentine's Day is nothing special because we celebrate love and each other every day!
